  • Gemini and Apex signed a letter of intent to distribute regulated crypto prediction markets together.
  • Gemini Titan would exclusively handle crypto event contract execution and clearing for Apex brokerage customers.
  • Gemini Titan holds a CFTC market license, while Gemini Olympus handles regulated derivatives clearing operations.

Gemini and Apex Fintech Solutions plan to expand access to regulated crypto prediction markets. The partnership will combine Apex’s brokerage infrastructure with Gemini’s federally regulated trading and clearing operations.

Gemini and Apex Sign Letter of Intent for Prediction Markets

Gemini Space Station and Apex Fintech Solutions Inc. announced on Monday that they signed a letter of intent to distribute crypto prediction markets. Through the proposed partnership, Apex brokerage customers would gain access to crypto event contracts through Gemini.

Under the agreement, Gemini Titan would become the exclusive regulated venue for crypto event contracts distributed through Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant. As a result, participating brokerages could use Gemini for execution and clearing without building direct connections to a prediction market exchange.

The exclusive arrangement would apply to crypto event contracts offered through Apex’s FCM. Meanwhile, the companies could work together on other event contracts covering sports, economic data and financial markets. Those additional categories would not be exclusive.

However, the agreement has not been finalized. Both companies expect to complete the remaining terms in the coming weeks.

CFTC Licenses Support Gemini’s Prediction Markets Expansion

Gemini launched prediction market trading in December 2025 after Gemini Titan secured a Designated Contract Market license from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The license allows Titan to operate a federally regulated derivatives marketplace.

In April, Gemini expanded its regulatory structure when Gemini Olympus received a Derivatives Clearing Organization license from the CFTC. Consequently, Gemini can handle clearing and settlement for Titan through its own regulated operations.

By the second quarter of 2026, more than 225 million event contracts had traded through Titan. The platform had also recorded more than 27,000 cumulative traders. Prediction markets have since become a key part of Gemini’s expansion beyond cryptocurrency trading.

“We believe that predictions are the future of markets,” Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss said. He also said the company built the platform internally after operating a regulated crypto business for more than a decade.

Partnership Builds on Gemini’s Stock Trading Expansion

The proposed deal expands an existing relationship between the two companies. In July, Gemini launched commission-free stock trading for certain U.S. customers. Apex Clearing Corporation serves as the custodian and clearing broker for that service.

With the latest partnership, Apex brokerage customers could add crypto event contracts without developing their own exchange infrastructure. Therefore, existing Apex connections could provide a simpler route to Gemini’s regulated prediction markets.

“Our brokerage clients get regulated access to crypto event contracts without having to build the plumbing themselves,” Apex Global Head of Digital Markets Travis McGhee said.

The partnership remains based on a letter of intent, meaning Gemini and Apex must still complete and agree on the final terms before the planned distribution arrangement takes effect.
