Bitcoin Price Prediction Meets October’s Historical Record
Bitcoin finished higher in 10 of 13 Octobers between 2013 and 2025. In the years 2014, 2018, and 2025, negative results were obtained, indicating that there are exceptions to seasonal strength.
Uptober is a month with a gain in October, and Downtober is a month that ends down. These labels reflect market outcomes, while fund flows and economic developments help explain the forces behind them.
The historical record supports optimism but cannot determine this month’s closing level. A positive monthly finish can also conceal sharp pullbacks before October ends.
Bitcoin ETFs Attract $2.65 Billion in September Net Inflows
In the month of September, the US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $2.65 billion in net inflows, SoSoValue data showed. The funds finished the month with $107.98 billion in combined net assets, equivalent to 6.42% of Bitcoin’s market capitalization.
However, the funds recorded $148.69 million in net outflows on September 30, the month’s final trading day. Fidelity’s FBTC recorded the largest withdrawals at $125.58 million, while Bitwise’s BITB shed a further $13.63 million. BlackRock’s IBIT posted $9.48 million in outflows during the same session.

Daily trading volume totaled $2.36 billion across the products tracked by the market data provider. Net inflows since launch totaled $57.50 billion through the end of September.
US Jobs and Inflation Could Shift Expectations
September’s US employment report is scheduled for October 2, while consumer inflation data arrives on October 14. Both releases precede the Federal Reserve’s October 27–28 meeting.
Softer inflation could ease pressure for tighter policy and support demand for speculative assets. Strong wage growth or an inflation surprise could instead reinforce expectations for restrictive interest rates.
Nevertheless, weaker employment would not necessarily cause a Bitcoin price boom.
Bitcoin Price Prediction: Will BTC Cross $90k in October 2026?
At the time of writing, BTC price traded at $83,797 and has increased by 0.5% in the ongoing 4-hour candle. Bitcoin price was below the $85,000 resistance as it fell back to September levels of around $87,000.
The four-hour setup showed more consolidation than the level of support, which was above $82,000, following a marked rally in September.
The strength index was 49. Broadly neutral momentum, although a slight positive momentum, was indicated in this reading.
The MACD line registered -73.00, while its signal line stood at -101.41. Its positive histogram reading of 28.42 suggested easing downward momentum.

Based on the future BTC outlook resistance levels, a sustained four-hour close above $85,000 could open a move toward $87,000.
A subsequent break above that barrier would bring $89k-$90k into focus as the next technical target. Failure to reclaim immediate resistance would leave $82,000 as the key downside level.
