How Low Can XRP Price Go After CLARITY Act Setback?
Highlights
- XRP Price faces deeper losses if $1.20 support collapses decisively.
- CLARITY Act setback weakened sentiment and delayed comprehensive crypto regulation.
- FOMC guidance and ETF outflows could intensify near-term selling pressure.
XRP Price fell Wednesday as regulatory disappointment and monetary concerns pressured digital assets. The token slid from a recent $1.45 high and briefly traded below $1.23 before attempting a modest recovery.
Bitcoin price hovered near $75,700, while Ethereum traded around $2,390 and Solana changed hands near $97. Total crypto capitalization fell 1.44% over 24 hours to $2.58 trillion, showing risk reduction.
CLARITY Act Setback Deepens Crypto Market Pressure
The Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act after its procedural motion received only 49 votes. The proposal needed 60 votes, leaving supporters well short of the threshold required for further debate.
Its defeat reduced expectations for comprehensive legislation before year-end and sparked renewed selling across major tokens. Ripple said the result did not alter XRP’s established legal standing, although short-term market confidence weakened.
FOMC Decision Today Adds Another Market Risk
Federal Reserve officials will announce their policy decision Wednesday after a two-day meeting in Washington. Interest-rate markets assigned roughly a 93% probability to a 25-basis-point increase before the announcement.

Such a move would lift the federal funds rate range from 3.50%-3.75% to 3.75%-4.00%. Traders will examine Chair Kevin Warsh’s comments for signals about inflation, oil prices, and further tightening.
XRP ETF Demand Faces Broader Fund Outflows
Spot XRP ETFs reported no net inflow September 15, while their combined assets remained near $1.41 billion. Earlier demand had been stronger, with cumulative inflows around $1.68 billion after an eleven-session winning streak.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs lost $450.33 million on September 15, marking a sharp reversal from the previous session. Fidelity’s FBTC led withdrawals with $214.75 million, while BlackRock’s IBIT shed $161.69 million.
GBTC lost $44.14 million, followed by ARKB’s $17.38 million and BITB’s $12.36 million. Trading value reached $4.35 billion, while combined Bitcoin ETF assets stood at $95.72 billion.
Those assets represented 6.28% of Bitcoin’s market value, confirming that institutional exposure remains substantial.
How Low Can XRP Price Go Now?
The price of XRP must reclaim $1.28 and $1.31 to reduce immediate downside pressure and restore short-term confidence.
Failure near those barriers would keep attention on $1.23, followed by psychological support around $1.20.
A decisive daily close below $1.20 could expose $1.14, then the important $1.07 swing low. If the weakness extends below, this could create a wider demand zone of $0.93-$0.76 that was established during the previous consolidation phase.

The RSI of XRP is close to the 33 level, which could indicate that the asset is close to being oversold, although there is no confirmed reversal. The MACD is below its signal line, and approaching the negative side, indicating bearish momentum is still in charge.
Meanwhile, the XRP price is still at risk due to the Fed’s guidance and regulatory setback follow-through.
