Ondo Network Goes Live as Execution Layer for Open Financial Markets
Highlights
- Ondo Network separates execution, validation and settlement to support faster private financial market applications globally.
- Ondo Perps launches first, offering 24-hour stock and commodity perpetuals with tokenized RWA collateral support.
- Oasis Pro authorizations expand U.S. investor access to equities, ETFs, funds and IPO securities markets.
Ondo Finance has launched Ondo Network, a high-speed execution layer designed to bring faster private trading to open financial markets. The system separates execution, validation and settlement while supporting Ondo Perps, tokenized assets, stablecoin settlement and future market applications worldwide.
Ondo Network Expands Earlier Chain Vision
Ondo Finance announced the development through its official X account. ChainCatcher reported that CEO Ian De Bode described Ondo Network as an evolution of the earlier Ondo Chain plan.
De Bode said the company will not operate both networks at the same time. Ondo shifted its approach after building Ondo Perps and speaking with users about current infrastructure limits.
The company said trade execution created the main bottleneck, rather than asset settlement. Ondo Network separates execution, validation and settlement, instead of forcing all functions into one blockchain layer.
The network uses secure hardware enclaves for private and high-speed execution. Decentralized attestors verify approved code, while blockchains handle asset transfer settlement.
Ondo Perps Becomes First Live Application
Ondo Perps is the first application built on Ondo Network. The platform supports 24-hour trading in stock and commodity perpetual contracts, with tokenized real-world assets allowed as collateral.
Ondo said the network is not limited to perpetual futures. Spot markets, structured products, lending markets and other financial applications can also use the same infrastructure.
De Bode said, “The Ondo network is a new type of architecture” that supports privacy, high-speed execution, self-custody, verifiable fairness and permissionless access. Asset transfers currently settle on Ethereum, with more public blockchains planned.
Settlement can happen in fiat or supported stablecoins, including directly between blockchain wallets. Ondo also said the launch does not change the ONDO token’s role as the governance and incentive token for its RWA ecosystem.
Oasis Pro Adds Regulated Market Access
The new authorizations allow Oasis Pro Markets to offer U.S. investors access to NMS equities, ETFs, mutual funds, index funds and IPO securities. The approvals broaden Ondo’s regulated market infrastructure.
Ondo’s registered transfer agent, Oasis Pro, mints the tokens on Ethereum. The tokens are backed by the real shares, while regulated custodians hold the underlying securities.
Ondo said future versions of the network may add broader attestor participation, proof-of-stake security, on-chain state settlement and added cryptographic proofs. The company also plans selective privacy and new staking roles.
De Bode said, “Over time, the network will also commit the settled state to public blockchains.” He added that the durable record currently lives within the enclaves, while future updates may expand public settlement records.
If you want tokenized equities, strict rules require secure institutional crypto custody solutions to keep assets separate and protected.
