Bitget crypto exchange is launching a new liquidity service for institutions, as it grows its contracts-for-difference (CFD) operations. It is geared to quantitative trading desks, proprietary trading firms, investment funds, and brokers and professional traders with significant trading volumes.

Bitget Launches New Institutional Liquidity Offering

The new infrastructure gathers straight through processing (STP), multi-level liquidity, low latency execution and FIX API. The set-up is intended to facilitate automated trading operations requiring direct connection with trading systems and constant access to market liquidity, Bitget said.

For this, Bitget is aiming at companies utilizing quantitative models, high frequency strategies, futures and spot arbitrage, and Expert Advisor (EA)-based systems. This could also involve more rapid trading and greater “liquidity depth” (amount of trading volume) as more people trade.

In the new model, Bitget will execute trades on the client’s orders based on a 100% STP mechanism. They are filled in the system without the need for a human to intervene in the trade. This enables institutional users to link their trading activity with the liquidity sources available, via an automated pathway of execution.

The company stated that its liquidity network features Tier-1 banks and non-bank market makers. Several layers of pricing are offered to clients, to offer more depth for larger orders. It is designed to be used to support high-volume trading while not being just liquidity that is available at the best quoted price.

“As trading becomes more automated and sophisticated, the quality of the infrastructure behind every trade becomes increasingly important,” elucidated Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget.

She added, “Professional traders need consistent execution, deep liquidity and reliable connectivity to run their strategies effectively at scale. With our institutional liquidity offering, we are strengthening the foundation of our CFD business to serve these clients better and support the next stage of Bitget’s growth across global markets.”

Other Recent Initiatives

The crypto exchange has also been moving its infrastructure to be nearer to the major financial trading hubs. It has servers based at data centres in London’s LD4 and in Tokyo’s TY3 facilities. Moreover, the company says that its dedicated network infrastructure and fibre connections allow the matching of orders in under a millisecond.

Institutional trading users can also integrate their current trading platforms via FIX API. The connectivity enables quantitative firms, brokers and other professional clients connect their proprietary platforms, bridges and liquidity aggregation systems to Bitget’s CFD environment.

In addition, Bitget stated that client assets are stored in separate custody accounts, which are independent of the exchange’s operating assets. There are also compliance checks and third-party auditing standards included in the framework.

The company offers its CFD services to retail customers via App, website, MT5 and also to institutional customers via the company’s dedicated infrastructure.
