Topyc: Bringing Back a Piece of the Old Internet with a Twist (Open Beta)
Content creation is the life of the internet. Creators provide resources for researchers, students, and educators. Several attempts to develop a fair system for rewarding creators have yielded several solutions. As a writer, vlogger, or designer, a fair reward system could significantly improve your craft. This is Topyc’s mission with its creator reward platform.
Topyc (say “Topic”) has created a platform where you can earn income for sharing your authentic content. For creators and audiences alike, it aims to revolutionize the internet content ecosystem and build a community where all factions collaborate in a fair and equitable manner.
With the beta version of the Topyc platform already launched, we reviewed its technology and benefits for creators. This review explains how Topyc aims to reward creators and provide ample benefits for users.
Rewarding excellent content with crypto
Topyc rewards users with crypto for posting their content on the platform. Just like regular interactive web platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X, you can create a creator account and post your video content and articles on Topyc. Once posted, your article will be eligible for rewards from reader tips.
Topyc integrates blockchain technology in content hosting, management, and remittance. This way, it ensures transparency and refutes capitalist surveillance. In other words, you can easily track your rewards on Topyc, and your personal data is not exposed online.
Topyc empowers creators and users by giving them full control of their information, content, and monetization. When you post content on Topyc, your article is minted as an NFT on the Ethereum blockchain. Your content’s NFT includes data to verify ownership, ensuring true, tamper-proof ownership of your intellectual property (IP).
Content NFTs are also tradable. Creators are also allowed to set royalty agreements and earn passive income from the secondary sale of their NFTs. This way, it offers several income streams for creators to ensure befitting rewards for content created on the platform.
Put simply, Topyc is an IP tokenization protocol for creator assets with a fair reward structure powered by the community.
Other features on Topyc
Apart from regular content creation, the following features are also available on Topyc
Prediction markets
A prediction market section is also integrated into the platform. Here, users can bet on future outcomes using crypto. The only thing is, users have to gain 5 reputation by posting to unlock prediction market creation.
Wallet messaging
Topyc features a decentralized messaging protocol that allows users to securely and directly send messages to other wallets.
Supported blockchains for tipping on Topyc
The Topyc platform supports Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains for its beta testing stage. However, the project has shared plans to expand the network coverage in the future. Other popular blockchain networks, such as Polygon, Arbitrum, and Solana, are lined up for integration in the future.
By integrating multiple networks, Topyc opens its platform to a wider crypto community, allowing creators to receive rewards on their preferred blockchains. It also allows readers to tip creators via their favorite or most cost-effective blockchain network.

Topyc Blockchain and Native token
Topyc also shared plans for it’s own blockchain and native token in the future. The Topyc token. While details of the Topyc token aren’t fully established at the time of writing, the Team have expressed that it will be an integral part to the Topyc ecosystem.
The Internet Was Built on Freedom. Topyc Is Building It Back.
Something got lost somewhere between the early internet and today. The web that once felt like a global town square – open, unfiltered, and genuinely owned by its participants – has been slowly replaced by a handful of corporate platforms that monetize your attention, store your data, and decide what you get to see. Social media algorithms don’t surface the best content; they surface the most engaging content. There’s a difference, and it costs creators billions in stolen value every year.
Topyc (say “Topic”) is a bet that people are ready for something better. Now in open beta, it’s a decentralized, topic-based forum where discussions happen on your terms – not an algorithm’s. The tagline is simple: where good content gets rewarded. But the implications run deeper than a catchy phrase.
Your Data Is Not the Product
On every major social platform today, you are the product. Your behavior, preferences, and connections are packaged and sold to advertisers. This is so normalized that most users don’t even think about it anymore. Topyc is built on a different premise entirely.
Instead of an account tied to an email address and a password sitting in a corporate database, Topyc uses wallet-based authentication. Your identity is your cryptographic key – something only you control. No platform can lock you out, sell your profile, or hand it over without your knowledge. You can even participate completely anonymously if you choose, browsing and posting without connecting a wallet at all.
This isn’t a privacy feature bolted on as an afterthought. It’s an architectural decision that defines everything downstream: who owns the data, who controls access to it, and who benefits from it. The answer, in every case, is you.
No Algorithm. No Manipulation. Just Topics.
Topyc is organized around Topycs – topic-based boards covering everything from Crypto and Technology to Comics, Gaming, Politics, Science, and dozens more. You pick the topics you care about. You favorite them. The content you see is the content posted by the community in those spaces, ordered the way forums have always ordered content: by what’s actually being discussed.
There’s no feed trained on your psychological triggers. No promoted posts inserted because a brand paid to reach you. No shadow-banning or mysterious reach suppression. What gets attention is what earns it – from real people reading, tipping, and engaging.
This is closer to how the early internet worked, before platforms decided that maximizing time-on-site mattered more than the quality of the experience. Topyc is betting that people miss that, and that they’ll come back to it when given the chance.
Ownership Is the Point
When you create something valuable on a traditional platform, the platform owns the infrastructure it lives on. You can be deplatformed, your account deleted, your content wiped. Years of work, gone. Topyc treats this as a fundamental design flaw, not an edge case.
Every thread on Topyc can be minted as an NFT on the Ethereum blockchain, with content stored permanently on IPFS – a decentralized storage network that no single party controls. Once minted, your content exists independently of Topyc itself. The platform becomes a window into something you actually own, rather than a landlord you rent attention from.
Creators earn royalty fees on their content NFTs, earning a percentage whenever their work is resold on secondary markets. This is the kind of passive income structure that traditional content platforms have never offered, because their business model depends on keeping creators dependent, not independent. It’s the kind of thing trying to incentivize the value of data. The value of meaning.
Money Flows Directly, Without a Middleman
Topyc’s tipping system is built on smart contracts. When someone tips a creator, the funds move peer-to-peer, wallet to wallet, through the contract. Topyc never holds your money. It never touches it. There’s no float and no payment processing delay. All on-chain.
Currently supporting Ethereum and Bitcoin in beta, with Polygon, Arbitrum, and Solana on the roadmap, the multi-chain architecture means creators can receive tips on whichever network their audience prefers. As the ecosystem expands, so does the reach – without any single blockchain becoming a point of failure or control.
This zero-custody model isn’t just a technical nicety. It’s a legal and ethical commitment. The platform cannot freeze your funds. It cannot reverse transactions under pressure. It cannot be compelled to block payments to specific creators because of political or reputational considerations. The code enforces the rules, and the rules don’t have exceptions.
Prediction Markets Built Into Discussion
One of Topyc’s more unusual features is the integration of prediction markets directly into threads. Prediction markets can be cited in threads. Did you call something correctly? The market will tell you, and reward you if you did.
Anti-gaming mechanisms keep this honest: betting limits prevent whale manipulation. It’s a feature that reflects a broader philosophy – that good discourse should have skin in the game, and that accountability is more interesting than empty opinion.
What Comes Next
Topyc is in beta, which means it’s early. But the roadmap points toward a platform that gets more interesting the more it grows.
Board-specific features are coming – a crypto board with live price tickers, a gaming board with community-native tools, and an upcoming integration with Falldata, a large library of documented government, corporate, and individual wrongdoings. The vision there is a platform where accountability journalism and decentralized discussion become genuinely interconnected – where a thread about an institution can be anchored to verifiable, on-chain-cited records of what that institution actually did.
Richer text tools, expanded chain support, proprietary blockchain and a native TOPYC token (sequenced for after the platform matures, to avoid securities law pitfalls) are also on the horizon.
Why It Matters
Topyc isn’t the first project to argue that the internet needs to be rebuilt around user ownership. But the combination it’s offering – topic boards, wallet auth, direct tipping, NFT content, prediction markets, anonymous access, and zero-custody money movement – represents something genuinely coherent. Each piece reinforces the others. Together they add up to a platform that treats its users as participants with rights, not as resources to be extracted from.
The old internet wasn’t perfect. But it had something today’s platforms have lost: the sense that the space belonged to the people using it. Topyc is trying to bring that back, with the tools that now exist to make it stick.
You can join the beta at topyc.com – with a wallet, or without one.
