CLARITY Act Final Vote Remains Unscheduled
The Senate calendar shows a 5.30 pm. vote on cloture after the senators resume on August 3.
That vote however concerns H.R. 6500 and not H.R. 3633 the CLARITY Act. H.R. 3633 has not yet been announced to have either a cloture motion or a final floor vote.
The CLARITY Act has already cleared the House by 294-134 margin in July 2025. It later cleared the Senate Banking Committee through a 15-9 bipartisan vote in May 2026.
Those results moved the legislation closer to Senate consideration. Committee approval is however not a sure pass to final vote and passage.
On July 22 Senator Cynthia Lummis published revised text of the legislation. The proposal combines work completed by the Senate Banking and Agriculture committees.
Sen. Cynthia Lummis told crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett that Senate leadership is still seeking to take up the CLARITY Act before lawmakers leave Washington for their August recess.

Political Disagreements Complicate the Vote
The bill must have sufficient backing to make it through Senate procedural obstacles until legislators can debate final passage.
The votes needed to pass a cloture motion are usually 60. Republicans would therefore need Democratic support to advance the legislation through the Senate. Republicans hold 53 in the Senate, and the legislation is likely to require at least seven Democratic votes to pass the 60-vote procedural hurdle in the Senate. What’s Next for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP Prices?
Bitcoin price traded at $63,211, which is above the closely monitored zone of between 62,000 and $$63,000. Continued strength could lift BTC toward $64,100, followed by $65,000 and $66,000. But it might lose $62,000 and this can undermine its recovery structure.
Ethereum changed hands around $1,870 after remaining under pressure. Breaking above 1,900 would be the gateway to further action towards $1,950 and $1,970 would be the more robust recovery point. Inability to retain $1,800 may be a welcome to further selling.

XRP was trading around the $1.07 mark, and it was close to its immediate pivot of $1.06. An upward verified movement beyond $1.10 would aim at $1.13 and then sellers would contend $1.20. Nonetheless, it can be weak beneath $1.06 which can bring XRP back to the psychological support at $1.00. Regulatory advancements may boost the mood, but the broader market dynamics will continue to play a role in all three assets until August trade.
What Happens Next for the CLARITY Act?
The Senate reconvenes on August 3, but the first scheduled vote is on government funding.
To proceed with H.R. 3633, senate leaders ought to submit the necessary procedural motion. Up to the moment, reports of a definite final vote are too soon.
There is still a tight time frame until the Senate is expected to break in August. The measure could still be included in the floor schedule by leaders in the next few days.
A formal filing of cloture would serve as the best indication that a vote would be coming. The other hold up may continue the regulatory uncertainty during the recess.
