CRCL Stock in Focus After US Jobless Claims Came Lower Than Expected

Highlights

  • CRCL stock slipped as jobless claims fell below market expectations.
  • Crypto liquidations exceeded $400 million as broader risk appetite weakened.
  • Circle and Tereina will integrate stablecoin payments into SAP workflows.

CRCL Stock slipped 0.80% to $80.19 in Thursday’s intraday session, shedding $0.64 on October 8.

BTC price traded near $82,700, ETH around $2,550, and XRP at approximately $1.41 as cryptocurrency markets weakened. The decline coincided with U.S. jobless claims falling below expectations.

Jobless Claims Come In Below Expectations

U.S. initial jobless claims totaled 197,000 for the week ending October 3, according to the Labor Department. That was below the 200,000 forecast and down 2,000 from the previous week’s revised reading.

The department raised the previous week’s estimate from 197,000 to 199,000, slightly changing the weekly comparison. The four-week average declined to 198,000, offering a steadier measure of recent unemployment benefit applications.

Continuing claims increased by 17,000 to 1.716 million for the week ending September 26. The figures suggested limited layoffs, although fewer initial applications alone do not establish stronger hiring.

For CRCL Stock, the claims release arrived alongside broader pressure across cryptocurrency-linked U.S. equities. A resilient labor market could influence interest rate expectations alongside inflation data and the Federal Reserve’s broader assessment.

Crypto Market Selloff Weighs on CRCL Stock

Bitcoin price fell below $83,000 on Thursday morning, while Ethereum, XRP and Solana also recorded losses. Stocktwits reported weaker crypto shares alongside higher oil prices and Treasury yields, following reports concerning possible U.S. strikes against Iran.

CoinGlass data showed more than $400 million in cryptocurrency liquidations over the previous 24 hours. The report said crypto losses coincided with weakness across U.S. equities, highlighting the broader retreat in appetite for risky assets.

In an October 7 announcement, Circle outlined a stablecoin payments partnership with Tereina, an SAP-backed financial services company. The integration begins with SAP Cloud ERP and brings USDC and EURC into existing enterprise payment workflows.

Eligible businesses will be able to send and receive stablecoin payments through applications their finance teams already use. USDC will serve eligible dollar transactions, while EURC provides an option for euro-denominated payments.

Circle and Tereina plan customer trials, specialist training and collaboration with ecosystem partners over the coming months. The companies also intend to track enterprise adoption as implementations progress, according to their announcement.

CRCL Stock Prediction: Will Circle Rebound?

The support level is located in the vicinity of the $79.11 price point and will be activated once the $79.00 price mark breaks through it.

The resistance level is currently $80.84, and if the stock continues to break out, then the $81.30 to $81.40 area would be considered the next resistance. Further downside may be possible in the event of rejection; a move through resistance may improve odds for recovery.
