Robinhood (NASDAQ: HOOD) stock price is up today, September 1, after Morgan Stanley raised the stock’s target to $150. The raised target comes as Robinhood expands its product suite beyond crypto and stock trading.
Morgan Stanley Raises Robinhood Target
Morgan Stanley has upgraded its rating on HOOD stock from equalweight to overweight. The $1.9 trillion investment bank has also raised its target from the previous $124 to $150.
HOOD stock price closed trading at $104 on August 31. This suggests that Morgan Stanley is expecting the shares to rise by 44% from the current price. This bullish forecast comes despite concerns that the Fed will hike interest rates two times in 2026, a move that could pull risk assets like stocks lower.
Morgan Stanley attributes its bullish outlook to Robinhood’s expansion of its product suite. The investment bank says that customers on Robinhood can access more products on a single platform, suggesting that the company can collect more revenue from its 28 million customer base than it did before.
A previous report by CoinGape noted that Robinhood expanded crypto services in the UK in August after receiving approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Robinhood Chain, which was launched in July, has also been boosting the outlook after the network surpassed Ethereum and Hyperliquid in revenue.
HOOD Stock Analysis as Ascending Channel Forms
The price of HOOD stock is moving within a rising channel on the four-hour chart, but it is now testing the support at the lower trendline. This pattern suggests that the stock has been on an uptrend since July 31, but the momentum is becoming weak.
Robinhood shares bounced from the support at the lower trendline on August 31, suggesting that the psychological support of $100 serves as an entry point for buyers.
If HOOD stock extends its gains today, the price could reach the midline of this ascending channel at $107 before another leg starts to the resistance at the upper channel at $112.
The RSI reading of 53 suggests that the momentum is favoring bulls. The RSI line is also tipping north to suggest that buying pressure is rising. This rising RSI line supports the bullish thesis of a move to $112.
However, the AO bars that are red and shrinking in length are creating a bearish divergence. These bars suggest that the bullish momentum is weak.

If selling pressure returns amid the escalating geopolitical tensions and concerns about the Fed hiking rates during the September 16 FOMC meeting, the price of HOOD stock might drop to the support at $100.
