Highlights

  • Anthropic is advancing IPO preparations with investor meetings reportedly underway.
  • Meta is evaluating a $10 billion computing capacity deal with Anthropic over two years.
  • Anthropic recently expanded its computing capacity through a long-term TeraWulf data center agreement.

Amid the soaring anticipation about the Anthropic IPO, the latest report on potential deal talks between Meta Platforms and the AI firm has caught the eyes of market participants. For context, Meta is discussing a computing power lease worth up to $10 billion over two years.

The development arrives as Anthropic reportedly advances its IPO preparations, reinforcing expectations that the AI company could become one of the most closely watched public listings in the technology sector.

Meta Deal in Focus Amid Anthropic IPO Buzz

The latest discussions between Meta Platforms and Anthropic have intensified market focus on the Anthropic IPO. According to a Reuters report, citing The New York Times, Meta is evaluating a deal that would lease computing capacity to Anthropic for as much as $10 billion over a two-year period.

Meanwhile, the proposal reportedly originated from Anthropic in June, while Meta is still reviewing the terms. If finalized, Anthropic would make monthly payments throughout the agreement.

However, the report added that both companies would also retain the option to terminate the contract before the full term expires. Notably, the potential partnership could benefit both sides.

Anthropic would gain access to the massive computing resources required to develop advanced AI models. At the same time, Meta could unlock a new revenue stream from its growing infrastructure investments instead of relying primarily on digital advertising.

The move would also place Meta in more direct competition with infrastructure providers such as CoreWeave and Nebius. Besides, it also comes as demand for AI computing capacity continues to surge across the industry.

Anthropic in Focus Amid Recent Developments

The reported infrastructure talks come shortly after Bloomberg revealed that Anthropic is preparing for a possible public listing. According to Bloomberg, banks leading the offering have started arranging meetings between the AI firm executives and potential investors.

These discussions are viewed as another important step toward a potential IPO that could arrive as early as October. If the listing proceeds on that timeline, Anthropic could reach public markets ahead of OpenAI, which is reportedly targeting a 2027 debut.

Meanwhile, the company could also move ahead of Chinese AI developer DeepSeek, which is also preparing for an eventual stock market listing. Notably, Anthropic was also in the headlines before its IPO update caught the eyes of market participants.

For context, the company signed a 20-year data center lease agreement with Bitcoin miner TeraWulf earlier this month. The long-term arrangement is expected to strengthen the computing infrastructure needed to support future AI development.

Simultaneously, Anthropic also received US government approval to restore access to its Mythos 5 artificial intelligence model for selected businesses and federal agencies last month.

NOTE: While traditional retail investors must wait for the company to go public, crypto-native investors are already using specialized platforms to trade pre-IPO tokens of high-value artificial intelligence firms.
