Highlights

  • Coinbase Stock stock dropped due to lowered revenue estimates and trading
  • COIN should have support of $155.20 to prevent further losses in the future.
  • Base, Stablecoins, and prediction markets are significant drivers of growth in the future.

Coinbase stock fell 5.12% to $155.20 in premarket trading after the exchange reported second-quarter results. Revenue reached $1.22 billion, missing the $1.29 billion estimate and falling 18.5% yearly.

Coinbase also posted a $359 million net loss. Meanwhile, Bitcoin price slipped 1.34% to $63,655, while the crypto market declined 1.11% to $2.18 trillion. The declines added pressure before Friday’s opening bell.

Coinbase Stock Falls After Q2 Earnings Miss and Trading Slowdown

Coinbase reported that its second-quarter revenue was $1.22 billion, which was lower than the expected revenue of Wall Street, which was $1.29 billion. The decrease in revenue was 14% per quarter with the trading in digital assets becoming weak in key markets.

The net loss accrued by the company was approximately 359 million. Reduced transaction revenue strained performance with retail and institutional volumes faltering in the quarter.

Coinbase shares fell around 5% after the earnings release. Subsequent premarket losses amounted to 5.12% and COIN tumbled to $155.20.

The stock closed Thursday at $163.58 after gaining 2.18% during regular trading. That improvement was wiped out by early selling in the wake of the weaker report and investor reticence.

Coinbase Eyes Stablecoins, Base and Prediction Markets for Growth

According to Chief Executive Brian Armstrong, Coinbase had a record share of the world cryptocurrency trading volume. He referred to that advantage as competitive superiority.

The management cited subscription revenues and emerging business entities as the areas of growth. These activities have the potential to lower the reliance on transaction fees at low-paced periods.

Stablecoins are at the heart of the company growth policy. Coinbase expects rising usage to support payments, trading, and other blockchain-based financial services.

The company is also increasing its focus on Base, its blockchain network. Base could attract more developers, applications, users, and transaction activity

Another emerging business with Coinbase is prediction markets. Armstrong added that the products would help expand the platform beyond traditional cryptocurrency trading.

Nonetheless, the less powerful trading volumes and regulatory uncertainty are the main risks. Coinbase needs to increase recurring revenue and to manage costs in volatile conditions.

Coinbase Stock Price Prediction: Key Levels to Watch

Coinbase stock had a short-lived recovery to $157.50 in premarket trading. The result of that rebound was unsuccessful as sellers recaptured the situation before the opening bell.

The $155.20 area now represents the nearest support level. Buyers have to protect that zone to avoid further deterioration in the normal trading.

The above $155.20 might be used to make another push towards 157.50. An established breakout beyond that resistance can lead to a roadway to $160.14.

A rebound of $160.14 would enhance the short-term momentum and ease the burden of the earnings-based downturn. The previous close at $163.58 would then become the next target.

However, the crypto stock must first overcome resistance between $157.50 and $160.14. Further rejection in that range might leave sellers in the control.

The current structure would be undermined by a decisive break lower than the market structure of $155.20. Sellers may then look to hit $152 and then test psychological support around $150.
