  • Ripple Prime has launched TradFi perpetuals for its Wall Street clients.
  • It will offer these perps through Trade.xyz's markets on Hyperliquid.
  • These markets cos across stocks, ETFs, and commodities.

Ripple Prime, through its multi-asset brokerage platform, is rolling out TradFi perpetuals for its Wall Street clients via Trade.xyz’s markets on Hyperliquid. This comes as the crypto firm continues to expand its offerings and builds on an initial DeFi rollout earlier in the year.

Ripple Prime Rolls Out TradFi Perpetuals For Institutional Clients

According to a Bloomberg report, the brokerage platform has launched TradFi perpetuals for institutional clients in partnership with Trade.xyz, the largest HIP-3 deployer on Hyperliquid. These reference markets cut across stocks, ETFs, indices, and commodities such as gold and silver.

This move comes as the demand for 24/7 perpetuals heats up, with Trade.xyz notably providing access to the TradFi markets beyond the traditional hours. The report also cited the rise in open interest on these real-world asset perpetual contracts, which has climbed to $9 billion over the past year.

Ripple also continues to expand its institutional offerings through its brokerage platform. As CoinGape reported, Ripple Prime now offers swap financing for leveraged ETFs, an area that banks and securities firms have largely dominated.

The brokerage platform also recently launched its Delta One business, enabling its institutional clients to trade total return swaps on U.S. stocks, indices and crypto. The company also added support for Hyperliquid earlier this year, giving clients access to DeFi trading.

Virtu Onboarded As First Client

Ripple also confirmed it launched access to RWA perpetuals for its institutional clients, with Virtu among the clients now trading these RWA swaps. “With reference markets trading continuously, including weekends, clients can manage exposures to traditional asset classes outside typical exchange operating hours,” the crypto firm said.

Commenting on the rollout, Ripple Prime’s International CEO Michael Higgins said RWA swaps are where TradFi and DeFi converge. He added that these institutions want 24/7 access to these assets and are best positioned to provide it given their ties to both worlds.

The crypto firm also noted that clients will benefit from cross-margining RWA swap exposures against the other asset classes the brokerage supports. Clients can also use the RLUSD stablecoin as collateral for these transactions.
