Ripple Partners with SettleMint to Boost Tokenization Adoption by TradFi

Highlights

  • Ripple and SettleMint partners to offer a unified solution for tokenized assets.
  • This integrates Ripple Custody and SettleMint’s Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform (DALP) for tradFi.
  • Global capital markets record massive demand for tokenization.

Ripple and SettleMint announced a partnership on Monday to offer a combined solution to custody, issue, and manage tokenized assets. This makes it easier for banks and other traditional finance (TradFi) firms to adopt tokenization.

Ripple and SettleMint Partner for Unified Custody and Tokenization Solution

In an official announcement on September 1, SettleMint revealed a landmark partnership with Ripple to offer regulated financial institutions a single, connected foundation for digital asset custody, issuance and lifecycle management.

The partnership integrates Ripple Custody and SettleMint’s Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform (DALP) to boost tokenization adoption by tradFi in Asia Pacific. This unified solution gives institutions a way to manage tokenized assets on a single platform.

Fiona Murray, managing director for Asia Pacific at Ripple, said tradFi wants to put digital assets to work without having separate systems for custody, issuance, and governance.

“This partnership gives them the foundation to roll out digital assets and future-proof them from there: Ripple Custody to hold and govern the asset, and SettleMint to manage its entire lifecycle,” she added.

As CoinGape reported earlier, Ripple made strategic investments in ZILO and Licuido for a tokenization push. It enhanced the way traditional financial assets are issued, transferred, settled and collateralized in tokenized markets.

TradFi’s Push Towards Tokenization

Financial institutions are already moving on-chain in the US amid a regulatory push by the Trump administration, including the SEC’s tokenization innovation exemptions. Also, Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) is set to launch a tokenization service in October.

Ripple Custody already provides institutional-grade digital asset custody infrastructure, expanding partnerships with Securosys, Figment, and integration with Chainalysis. This also offers a less complex way to secure digital assets, stablecoins, and real-world assets.

Adam Popat, CEO of SettleMint, said “Global capital markets are moving fully on-chain, and that shift only works when digital asset custody and lifecycle management operate as one system rather than two.”

Ripple is also pushing the XRP Ledger v3.3.0 upgrade as part of the roadmap, placing tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) at the center of its institutional strategy.

Meanwhile, XRP price is trading more than 1% higher at $1.38 in the last 24 hours. The 24-hour low and high are $1.36 and 1.40, respectively. Trading volume has dropped by 16% over the past 24 hours despite CME futures XRP OI surpassing Binance.

To support this massive influx of traditional capital, financial firms must integrate robust and compliant institutional crypto custody solutions capable of handling complex ledger configurations.
