President Donald Trump is privately discussing with senior aides whether to formally declare the US-Iran war over. As a result, Bitcoin recovered modestly in early Thursday trading, with oil prices also slipping lower.
Trump in Talks with Senior Aides to End US-Iran War
US President Donald Trump is having private discussions with senior advisors about declaring the Iran War over, WSJ reported on September 3. Trump told aides he favors the idea.
U.S. officials said the president believes continued economic pressure will force the Iranian regime either to dismantle its nuclear program or collapse.
Aides have reportedly warned that further escalation beyond recent strikes could harm Republican prospects in the midterm elections. Notably, Trump is going all-in for the final push of the midterms, saying he will personally campaign in 35 key races.
The latest discussions come amid fresh strikes across the Middle East. Iran launched retaliatory missile and drone attacks on U.S. forces, including a reported strike on facilities in Kuwait amid continued fighting near the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian forces claimed hits on multiple US bases across several countries. However, the US has not responded to last night’s Iranian attacks on US bases, keeping Bitcoin higher. The White House is concerned about surging oil prices and “close to zero” interceptor stockpiles.
In the latest US response, Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered US embassies worldwide to demand governments “immediately and systematically” cut trade with Iran.
Meanwhile, Trump told reporters this week that a renewed campaign against Iran “won’t continue for too long.” The US-Iran war, which began with U.S. and Israeli strikes in late February, saw repeated ceasefire attempts, interim deals, and declarations to end the war.
Bitcoin Rises amid Focus to Control Rising Oil Prices
Oil prices rose quickly amid recent strikes in the US-Iran war. WTI crude oil prices traded under $91 per barrel and Brent crude oil held around $95 per barrel on Thursday, sliding only slightly amid Trump discussions to end the conflict.
Higher oil prices have sparked concerns over inflation and potential Fed rate hike. However, Bitcoin rebound back above $77,000 after New York Fed President John Williams sees a lowering inflation trend and easing rate hike concerns.
He said Treasury yields are rising primarily due to a strong U.S. economy and massive investments in AI and technology rather than inflation concerns.
Bitcoin price is trading around $77,730, up more than 1% in the last few hours. The intraday low and high are $76,297 and $77,830, respectively. Trading volume has dropped 12% over the past 24 hours ahead of Friday’s Non-Farm Payrolls data.
Polymarket data shows prediction market participants still see Bitcoin price to reach $85,000 by December 31, 2026, with 63% ‘Yes’ bets.
