Highlights

  • Coinbase and Ripple executives are expected to attend the White House crypto meeting.
  • Chainlink, Paradigm, and Kalshi executives are also expected to be in attendance.
  • Trump and CFTC, SEC Chairs are likely to attend the meeting.

Coinbase and Ripple executives are expected to be among the crypto executives who will attend the White House crypto meeting with President Donald Trump and his officials. Notably, CEOs Brian Armstrong and Brad Garlinghouse have been among the crypto stakeholders actively pushing the Senate to pass the CLARITY Act into law.

Coinbase, Ripple Executives To Attend White House Crypto Meeting

According to Semafor, executives from crypto firms Coinbase and Ripple are among those expected to attend the meeting next week. Executives from a16z, Chainlink, Paradigm, and Kalshi are also likely to attend.

This follows yesterday’s report about the White House meeting with crypto and prediction market executives on August 19. President Trump is also likely to partake in the meeting alongside CFTC and SEC Chairs Mike Selig and Paul Atkins.

People familiar with the planning also described the event as a kickoff for the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee inaugural meeting on August 20. As part of the agenda, participants at the CFTC meeting will discuss topics on crypto regulation, AI, and prediction markets.

Although the agenda for the White House crypto meeting remains unclear, it is worth noting that Coinbase and Ripple CEOs have championed the push for the Senate to pass the CLARITY Act into law. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong expressed optimism that the bill would still pass despite stalling as the Senate went on its August recess.

CLARITY Act Odds Slip Below 20% Again

The odds of the CLARITY Act becoming law this year have slipped below 20% again. Data from the top crypto prediction market platform Polymarket shows a 19% chance that President Trump will sign the bill into law this year.

Galaxy Research also recently reduced its odds of the CLARITY Act passing this year to just 10%, citing unresolved issues and the fact that the Senate will be in session for just about two weeks before the midterms recess.

However, there is optimism that the SEC and CFTC could step in to provide regulatory clarity if the Senate fails to pass the CLARITY Act. The SEC canceled a crypto meeting scheduled for today and put its proposed Innovation Exemption guidance on hold, likely to avoid clashing with the CLARITY Act.
