Coinbase will suspend trading for six cryptocurrency pairs on August 6 after moving five of them into limit-only mode. The exchange said the decision follows its routine review of market quality and trading activity.
Coinbase Moves Six Trading Pairs Toward Suspension
Coinbase Markets announced that trading will end for LSETH-ETH, MINA-EUR, GRT-GBP, MASK-GBP, CHZ-USDT, and CRO-USDT on August 6, 2026. Before the suspension, MINA-EUR, GRT-GBP, MASK-GBP, CHZ-USDT, and CRO-USDT were placed in limit-only mode across Coinbase Exchange and Coinbase Advanced.
During the limit-only period, users can place and cancel limit orders while existing orders may still match. Market orders are no longer accepted for these trading pairs. Coinbase said the suspension is part of its regular review process to ensure listed markets continue meeting its trading standards.
The exchange stated that it monitors liquidity and order book depth across all supported markets. Trading pairs with limited activity may be removed to maintain efficient trading conditions and reduce wider spreads caused by low liquidity.
Exchange Reviews Listings as Business Updates Continue
Coinbase has taken similar actions in the past by suspending or removing trading pairs that no longer met its listing standards. Previous reviews have also considered regulatory developments, compliance requirements, and project changes.
A recent example involved Function X (FX) after the project paused its supported smart contract and migrated from the FX ERC-20 token to the new Pundi AI (PUNDIAI) token. Coinbase previously moved FX into limit-only mode before announcing a trading suspension.
The exchange also confirmed new asset listings during the week. Bio Protocol (BIO), BankrCoin (BNKR), and Treehouse (TREE) are now available on Coinbase and its mobile applications, allowing customers to buy, sell, send, receive, convert, and store the assets.
Coinbase Maintains Circle Partnership
Coinbase also confirmed that its commercial agreement with stablecoin issuer Circle will automatically renew after both companies satisfied the contractual renewal conditions. Bloomberg previously reported on the partnership update following Coinbase’s second-quarter earnings call.
Chief Financial Officer Alesia Haas said the renewal follows the existing agreement despite recent discussion surrounding Coinbase’s participation in the Open USD consortium. The renewal removes uncertainty around the company’s USDC revenue-sharing arrangement.
Coinbase reported second-quarter revenue of $1.22 billion, below the $1.29 billion expected by Wall Street. Revenue also declined 14% from the previous quarter as digital asset trading activity slowed across several markets.
Coinbase shares closed at $146.50, gaining 0.16% during the latest trading session. ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) added 38,761 Coinbase shares, valued at about $5.68 million, during the same period.
