Highlights
- RWA Layer-1 blockchain MANTRA halted its network after detecting an attacker exploiting a vulnerability.
- All deposits and withdrawals on the network are stopped, with a patch release in progress.
- MANTRA price tumbled more than 10% but futures open interest are massively rising.
MANTRA Chain, a RWA tokenization-focused Layer-1 blockchain, has halted its network as a precaution, causing its token price to fall more than 10%. The network will resume once the team completes investigations and confirms the network is safe.
Chain Temporarily Halts Network and Freezes All Transactions
MANTRA Chain has frozen public endpoints, validators, bridge operations, and transactions, temporarily disrupting deposits and withdrawals involving the chain.
“We’re aware of an incident affecting MANTRA Chain and have halted the chain as a precaution while we investigate. According to an official announcement on August 21, it has frozen all endpoints and transactions.
This means all deposits and withdrawals on the network are temporarily stopped. Crypto exchanges and ecosystem partners have been informed about the temporary pause and frozen transactions.
It has now been confirmed that an attacker tried to exploit a vulnerability in an upstream dependency used by the chain. The team is preparing a patched release and resuming the network will require a coordinated restart with the wider validator set.
The project’s status page confirmed a full outage, with engineering and security teams working alongside external partners.
As CoinGape reported earlier, RWA Layer-1 blockchain MANTRA is set to be acquired by private-market data infrastructure firm Inveniam Capital Partners.
