The battle over the CLARITY Act is entering a critical phase in June. Industry and lawmakers are urging the Congress to act before the end of the summer recess. With the legislative calendar becoming more daunting, there are warnings that the next few weeks may prove to be pivotal for the bill’s fate.
Industry Participants & Lawmakers Urge Passage of Crypto Market Structure Bill
In a recent post on X, Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz summed up the sense of urgency in a single sentence. He wrote, “June is ‘Clarity’ month. It’s literally now or never.” The remarks come as lawmakers continue to pressure Congress on passing the CLARITY Act.
The legislation’s one of the strongest supporters is Senator Cynthia Lummis. Lummis revealed several risks that could hit the crypto industry if this bill fails.
“If the United States doesn’t establish the global standard for digital asset regulation, someone else will,” Lummis wrote. She added, “China is not waiting.” According to the senator, “The Clarity Act is how America leads — and how we ensure our adversaries don’t write the rules of the next financial era.”
America built the dollar-dominated financial system that has anchored global stability for a century. The Clarity Act ensures we build the next one. The time to act is now — before Beijing decides it will.

In a number of ways, the Wyoming Senator has emphasized that the bill could be years away if there are more delays. She added that the next opportunity for digital asset legislation is likely to be 2030 after this Congress.
Lummis said, “Until then, developers remain exposed with no legal protections, and law enforcement remains without the tools to hold bad actors accountable.” She added that “The Clarity Act solves both.”

In addition, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has urged the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives to advance the bill. CLARITY Act 2026 approval odds jumped after his statement, reaching 60% on Polymarket at press time.
What’s Next For The CLARITY Act In June?
Meanwhile, Lummis has also connected the bill with President Donald Trump’s overall strategy with crypto space. “Where other admins have senselessly punished the digital asset industry, Pres. Trump has promoted policies that embrace this industry & help it thrive,” she wrote. The senator urged lawmakers to “get the bipartisan Clarity Act to his desk.” Meanwhile, she expects a Senate floor vote this summer.
No matter how well things are going, planning issues have arisen. Senate Majority Leader John Thune told Republican lawmakers they wouldn’t wrap up their reconciliation package this month. Punchbowl News reporter Jake Sherman Sherman said the Senate “will go home until June, leaving the reconciliation bill unfinished.”
Immediately, questions arose as to whether lawmakers would have time to get the CLARITY Act through before the August recess. Crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett commented the bill is now up against several high-priority tasks for Congress. It includes reconciliation talks, FISA issues and a housing package passed by the House.
“This means the Clarity Act will now be competing for floor time in June,” Terrett wrote. She also cited the right time period for the legislation. saying there are four working weeks in June and just three in July before the August recess.”Clarity Act passage before August recess just got more challenging,” Terrett said.
Earlier, in the May 14 markup, the U.S. Senate advanced the bill with a 15-9 bipartisan vote.
