  • The COIN stock rose to $170 amid these announcements.

Crypto exchange Coinbase has unveiled new product launches at its ‘System Update’ event, with the exchange expanding beyond its crypto offerings. This marks the firm’s latest move as it looks to become the ‘Everything Exchange.’

Coinbase Unveils New Products At System Update Event

At the System Update event, the crypto exchange announced plans to begin offering stock options this summer, with crypto options to launch later this year. Furthermore, users will be able to trade perpetual-style stock indexes 24/7, with this offering also available to U.S. users.

This follows Coinbase’s earlier announcement of tokenized stocks, which it plans to launch on its platform soon. The exchange had noted that these stocks will be backed 1:1 and are different from derivatives or IOUs.

Meanwhile, at the System Update event, the exchange also announced that time-based predictions are now available on its platform. Users can trade the future prices of crypto assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Hyperliquid. The timeframes range from 15 minutes to a yearly timeframe.

Coinbase further announced that it will expand its pre-IPO perpetuals to give users early exposure to top companies. As CoinGape reported, Coinbase launched pre-IPO perps for SpaceX ahead of its record-breaking IPO last week. The exchange plans to launch perps for Anthropic and OpenAI ahead of their respective IPOs.

The AI Offerings From The Exchange

Coinbase also introduced the ‘Coinbase Advisor,’ which is one of the first SEC-registered AI-powered investment advisors in the world. The exchange’s CEO, Brian Armstrong, noted that the advisor will have complete context on users’ portfolios and account histories.

“Speak to it in plain English to take action on your account. It will even prompt you with ideas you hadn’t thought of,” he said. The exchange also announced that AI agents can now use its platform, as it moves to embrace agentic finance.

Users can plug in their AI agent using Claude or ChatGPT, set guardrails, and then let them trade on their behalf. Crypto exchange Robinhood also recently launched agentic trading for all its clients, enabling users to set up AI agents to manage their accounts.

Meanwhile, the Coinbase stock climbed amid the unveiling of these new products. The stock touched $170, up during today’s trading, according to TradingView data. However, the stock has dropped in after-market trading to around $168, down less than 1%.
