Highlights

  • DFDV bought 19,000 SOL at an average price of $98.
  • The treasury firm now holds just over 2.3 million SOL.
  • This comes as the SOL price trades above $100 again.

DeFi Development Corp (DFDV) has resumed its Solana purchases as the SOL price trades above the psychological $100 level. The purchase also comes amid renewed optimism in the crypto market, with Bitcoin rallying above $80,000.

DFDV Buys More Solana As Price Rallies

In a press release, the firm announced that it has resumed its SOL purchases, buying 19,000 SOL at an average price of $98.14. It now holds just over 2.3 million SOL, ranking as one of the largest Solana treasury firms.

“The purchase marks a return to active SOL accumulation as the Company looks to take advantage of improving market conditions and continue scaling its treasury,” the release read. The recent crypto market rally has provided optimism about the potential start of another bull run, with the SOL price trading above $100.

Several crypto treasury firms have notably paused purchases as the bear market has put pressure on these companies and their stock prices. Some, including the largest crypto treasury firm Strategy, have offloaded some of their holdings amid these market conditions.

DFDV revealed that it partially funded these latest SOL purchases with proceeds from the divestment of its ZeroStack position. The company expects to continue to hold SOL as a long-term treasury asset and deploy it through its staking and onchain treasury infrastructure.

DFDV Stock Price Rallies Over 12%

The DFDV stock has rallied amid the announcement of this latest Solana purchase. The crypto stock is currently trading at around $5, up over 12% today, according to TradingView data. The stock is also up over 23% in the past week.

The stock has mirrored Solana’s parabolic rally over the last week as Bitcoin climbed above $80,000. SOL is up over 24% in the past week and 43% in the last month. However, these assets are still notably down from their 2026 highs.

The DFDV stock is down just over 3% year-to-date (YTD), while SOL is down 45% YTD. Meanwhile, it is worth noting that bullish catalysts such as the SIMD-0550 proposal are also contributing to the SOL rally, as the coin’s burn rate could soon increase significantly while the inflation rate drops.
