Upbit Launches CAP Listing Across KRW, BTC, and USDT Trading Pairs
Highlights
- Upbit launched CAP trading across KRW, BTC, and USDT markets, expanding South Korean investor access significantly today.
- Bithumb added Unibase (UB) to its KRW market, broadening domestic cryptocurrency trading choices for investors nationwide.
- CAP supports covered credit stablecoins while serving governance functions within its on-chain lending and yield ecosystem infrastructure.
South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Upbit, has listed Cap (CAP) across its KRW, BTC, and USDT markets, while rival exchange Bithumb announced support for Unibase (UB) in its KRW market.
Upbit Opens Trading for CAP Across Three Markets
Upbit announced that CAP trading is now available in its KRW, BTC, and USDT markets. Deposits and withdrawals were scheduled to begin within two hours of the announcement, with trading opening at 14:00 Korea Standard Time.
The exchange confirmed that CAP deposits and withdrawals are supported only through the Ethereum network. Users were instructed to use the official Ethereum contract address and warned that transfers made through unsupported networks would not be credited.
Coingape previously reported that Upbit remains South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by domestic trading volume. The CAP listing expands the token’s availability by adding Bitcoin and Tether trading pairs alongside the Korean won market.
Upbit also introduced temporary trading controls for the new listing. Buy orders were restricted for about five minutes after trading opened. Sell orders below 10% of the previous day’s closing price were also blocked during the same period. Only limit orders were accepted during the first two hours of trading.
CAP Expands Presence in South Korea
The Upbit listing follows Bithumb’s earlier CAP/KRW launch on June 30. With the new markets, South Korean users can access CAP through fiat, Bitcoin, or USDT trading pairs on one platform.
At the time of the announcement, CAP traded near $0.027, with a market capitalization of about $42.5 million. Market data also showed increased trading activity following the listing announcement.
Cap operates an on-chain credit and stablecoin protocol based on a covered credit model. The protocol issues cUSD, a dollar-backed stablecoin, and stcUSD, a yield-bearing version created by staking cUSD within the network.
The project states that “CAP serves as the governance token” while cUSD and stcUSD support lending, borrowing, and on-chain yield generation through its credit marketplace.
Bithumb Adds Unibase to KRW Market
Bithumb also announced support for Unibase (UB) in its Korean won market. The project focuses on decentralized AI infrastructure that allows autonomous agents to maintain verifiable long-term memory, establish on-chain identities, and communicate across blockchain networks.
The dual exchange announcements add new digital assets to South Korea’s regulated crypto market as exchanges continue expanding their listed tokens.
CAP’s tokenomics allocate 46.72% of the total supply to ecosystem development. Up to 20% is reserved for the team and another 20% for investors, while community allocations account for the remaining distribution.
Upbit noted that the trading launch could be delayed if sufficient liquidity is not available. The exchange also reminded users to verify supported networks before transferring digital assets to avoid delays during the deposit process.
