Bitget Becomes First Exchange to Launch TradFi Quanto Perpetual Futures
Bitget has launched a new derivatives product designed to bring the principles of traditional finance into the world of cryptocurrencies. The exchange announced the creation of what it says is the “first TradFi Quanto Perpetual Futures” for trading select non-U.S. stocks using USDT as collateral.
Bitget Unveils TradFi Quanto Perpetual Futures Trading
The first contract to be offered is MINIMAXHKDUSDT. It is tied up with the Hong Kong-listed artificial intelligence firm MiniMax. This Bitget product is now available on the platform with a leverage of up to 20x.
The new contract will operate in the stock price in the currency of the market where it’s listed and manage all trading in USDT. The margin, funding payments and realized profits or losses are finalized in stablecoin. There is no need for users to convert USDT to the local fiat currency before entering trades.
Bitget’s pricing model is based on the local price of the stock and USDT are priced at 1:1 numerical value. This enables traders to follow the movement of the underlying stock without having to worry about the currency conversion while trading.
On this, Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, remarked, “Quanto contracts are not new in crypto derivatives, but no major exchange has applied the structure to traditional financial assets until now.”
She added: “From Pre-IPO access to US stock options, we are building a trading environment where crypto infrastructure serves global financial markets. The Quanto contracts remove the last barrier for global traders: currency conversion. Anyone holding USDT can now trade Hong Kong and other non-USD stocks as easily as they trade Bitcoin. This is convergence in practice which Bitget has been able to crack.”
Bitget claimed the design eliminates foreign exchange risk that typically accompanies foreign stock investments. The trader can only trade USDT in and out of the trades. Gains/losses are computed as they happen in the stablecoin.
For further context, the MINIMAXHKDUSDT contract trades 24 hours a day. Funding is determined once every 8 hours.
The Surge In Perpetual Trading Volume
Also, the launch coincides with trading activity in TradFi perpetual products being on the rise. Based on TokenInsight’s Q2 2026 Crypto Exchange Report, the industry has experienced robust growth thus far in the first half of the year. According to it, Bitget has clocked $70 billion in perpetual trading volume.
Equity-based perpetual contracts grew to be the fastest-growing type. During the second quarter, Bitget’s TradFi perpetual trading volume amounted to approximately $69 billion. The exchange was ranked second in the segment with 11.01% market share among the crypto exchanges.
