CLARITY Act Eyes Friday Senate Vote As Thune Signals Progress
Senate Majority Leader John Thune said he believes a procedural vote on the CLARITY Act will be held before the end of the August recess. “I think market structure we’ll get a vote on. Whether we can get on it or not, we’ll see,” Thune said. The bill, however, has yet to be placed on the official Senate floor schedule and has not been introduced as a cloture motion has yet to be filed.
Meanwhile, crypto analyst Ted Pillows claimed that the deadline is closing in. If Senate leadership does seek cloture on Wednesday, “the earliest vote would likely be Friday,” he said.
