Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev on Selling Spree, Plans More HOOD Stock Sale

Robinhood CEO Vladimir Tenev is selling HOOD stock this week, joining other executives in sales. This comes amid a 20% jump in the stock in a month to surpass the $120 mark as the firm expands into prediction markets, tokenized stocks, and agentic trading.
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev Sells Class A Common Shares
According to the latest SEC filing, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev sold 259,166 HOOD Class A stocks worth nearly $32.55 million under a Rule 10b5-1 plan announced last year. These were converted from Class B common stock earlier this week. After the confirmed sale, he still holds more than 48 million Class B shares.
In addition, Vlad Tenev plans to sell another 240,834 HOOD stocks worth about $29.69 million. He still reported 6,907 Class A shares held indirectly through a living trust and 48,035,406 Class B shares held directly. Notably, the Class B common stock carries super-voting rights and converts to Class A when sold.
Robinhood has 790,630,234 common shares outstanding as of that filing. The two September stock sales total exactly 500,000 shares.
As CoinGape reported earlier, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev last sold HOOD stock in July. He sold 375,000 shares for almost $43.6 million. Robinhood CLO Daniel Martin Gallagher Jr. and Robinhood Ventures Fund I also cashed out their holdings.
HOOD Stock Price Falls
HOOD stock closed 1.25% lower at $122.70 on Wednesday. Trading volume was slightly below the average volume of 22 million. Notably, HOOD stock has rallied more than 13% in a month and 70% in the last six months.
In premarket trading hours on Thursday, Robinhood stock has slipped another 1.85% to $120.45 and is likely to open lower today. Wall Street analysts from Goldman Sachs and Jefferies expected a further rise in HOOD stock. Notably, Goldman Sachs lifted Robinhood’s price target to $142 while maintaining a buy rating.
Robinhood shares are testing resistance near $125 and have turned volatile ahead of Trump-Xi trade talks. US stock market is under pressure today as oil prices jumped amid US-Iran deal uncertainty.
Meanwhile, Vlad Tenev posted “The course is set” on X showing an image of a futuristic spaceship command center and data screens. It is likely related to the upcoming HOOD Summit 2026 titled “Engines of Creation” starting next week.
