Approximately 80% of the holding is restricted for some time in the near future. The rest will not be sold until the third-quarter of 2027. Alphabet’s SpaceX investment had more than 8,000% increased in value since its original investment date, on 7th August.
Starlink Launch Fuels SpaceX Stock’s Weekly Rebound
SpaceX’s stock has rallied sharply since its IPO when it dropped from its peak of $225 to around $105. Since that time, SPCX has risen from its IPO of $135, and is currently trading at approximately a 40% gain over the last week.
The SpaceX stock also crossed above its 20-day simple moving average that previously held gains in check. The latest rally came after the successful launch of 24 Starlink satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. It was the 51st west coast launch for the company in 2026.

Elon Musk has claimed that Grok 4.7 will “exceed all current models” from xAI, and noted that this new version might be more useful in real-world engineering. Musk labeled Anthropic as a “great company” and says they will “probably release improved models soon.”

His remarks follow Cognition’s review of the latest Grok AI model. They wrote on X, “Grok 4.6 marks a significant improvement over Grok 4.5, surpassing GPT-5.6 Sol, behind only Opus 5 and Fable 5.”
However, he argued that SpaceX’s training corpus is “so awesome & unique” that he would be “shocked” if any model beats Grok 4.7 at real-world engineering.

Elon Musk’s SpaceXAI has unveiled its latest update to its AI model, Grok 4.6. The new model is just more than a month after Grok 4.5. It offers significant advancements to long running agents, coding and visual work. SpaceXAI states that Grok 4.6 offers cutting edge intelligence on a variety of benchmarks.
Grok 4.6 had an Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index of 61. It was equal to OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 Sol. It was just one point off Anthropic’s Fable 5. The model was also top on the GDPVal-AA v2, AA-Briefcase, and Harvey LAB.
It’s already live on Grok Build, Cursor, Grok Bot and the API. Musk called Grok 4.6 a “banger.” He also stated earlier that Grok 4.7 might be released within the next few weeks following Grok 4.6. Read More.

The SPCX stock is on the rise this Wednesday even as the company is about to see a wave of SpaceX share unlocks. SpaceX stock rose 3.57% to $138.05, moving back above its $135 IPO price.
This gain comes despite investors anticipate another big unlock on Aug. 20, when 319 million shares valued around $42.5 billion at today’s price will be available to trade. Additional unlocks of approximately 700 million shares are scheduled for release in September and October, which could put additional supply pressure on the shares.

Elon Musk-backed SpaceX stock has another $42.5 billion of shares (or 319 million as many as that are worth at the current price) that will become available for trading on August 20. The prospectus says the firm could get more big unlocks in September and October, with approximately 700 million shares unlocking each month.
About 7% of SpaceX shares are now on offer through 911 million shares, which was earlier this month. This was a much bigger unlock than the 639 million shares that SpaceX sold in its record going public.
